The Utah Professional Videographers Association is an organization of professional videographers serving the state of Utah. UPVA was founded in 1998, and is the local chapter of WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographers Association).
The goals of UPVA are threefold. First, to create an awareness of the products and services offered by association members. Second, for potential clients to create a preference for a professional to service their needs. Third, for the public to be aware that event and wedding videography is a profession and to differentiate between amateur and professional productions.
UPVA holds monthly meetings focusing on pertinent topics such as marketing, camera technique, production software and hardware, and the latest trends in the video industry. UPVA members are dedicated to improving their craft, and furthering videography as an industry.
Why was upva started? UPVA’s 3 founding principles are
1- Raise the value and respect of video production in the eyes of the consumer – our potential clients.
2- Raise the value and respect of video production in the eyes of our fellow wedding and event professionals – who we work side by side with.
3- Raise the value and respect of video production in the eyes of our fellow video producers by improving the industries image, quality, creative talent, income, dependability, and professionalism .
